What Are the CBD Oil Effects?

You may have heard about CBD oil effects on health, but you're probably not too sure what all the fuss is about. After all, there's hardly any talk about it in the medical profession, and doctors seem reluctant to prescribe CBD in any form. You may have heard that it can even help with weight loss, or that it's effective against depression, but the real story of CBD oil impacts isn't so simple. Here's what you need to know.

CBD Oil: All the Rage, But Is It Really Safe and Effective?

First, let's take a look at what's behind the buzz. Skim through some of the medical coverage of CBD oil and you'll soon realize that CBD is among the most popular trends in alternative medicine lately. In fact, a recent Consumer Reports report of 1,002 nationwide representative adults discovered that 13% of those surveyed had used CBD for pain relief, and that figure is only going to increase as CBD oil becomes more widely accepted by the medical community. Not all of these participants had used CBD for pain relief; many of them said they started using it after a traumatic brain injury.

CBD Oil Effects – What Are the Benefits of CBD?

The “old oil effect” is a term that has been used increasingly often in recent years. Basically, it refers to the ability (not medically proven) of CBD and other natural substances to reduce brain inflammation and provide relief from a number of serious ailments, including chronic pain and anxiety. As mentioned above, those who benefit from this type of treatment are those who suffer from conditions like chronic pain and depression. In addition to providing relief from symptoms of these conditions, those who use CBD oil can also see their IQs increase, their moods stabilize, and their mental abilities improve overall.

Might Have Neuroprotective Properties

So why should you consider trying this kind of treatment? It's not as if it has been found to be effective in a number of different studies conducted by independent researchers. The results of these studies could help to explain the positive effects that CBD can have on brain function – but the use of CBD is too recent for there to be any rigorous studies. CBD has been proposed to have the ability to effectively target neurodegenerative disease, and it could help to prevent future onset of such problems. However, the proof which is needed before it can be offered as a medical supplement is not yet there.

The Potential Side Effects of CBD

There are a number of things to take into consideration when looking at the possible effects of CBD. The first thing is that growing scientific evidence may be showing that CBD is effective at reducing inflammation in the body. In turn, this could help to prevent conditions like arthritis and heart disease. In addition, clinical studies (not yet ratified by the FDA) have shown anti-inflammatory effects of CBD that may help prevent conditions like stroke and autism. If you take full-spectrum oil, it is many people surmise that it is very likely that you would also see some anti-cancer effects as well.

CBD Oil Effects – Several Other Potential Benefits

Of course, one of the more widely publicized effects of CBD is the fact that is put forward as a preparation that can help treat certain common illnesses, like depression, anxiety, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease that affects approximately 25 million people around the world. Its most common symptom is often loss of movement, which can be very debilitating. One of the primary symptoms of multiple sclerosis is rapid, involuntary movement of the joints. If you were to research the effects of CBD on multiple sclerosis, you would likely see a lot of promise in the ability of CBD to ease those symptoms. However, until very recently there was still no clear evidence that CBD could actually help reduce the symptoms of MS and it is still not yet conclusively agreed to do so. The evidence for cannabidiol health benefits may also one day include helping in the treatment of substance use disorder.

Does CBD help anxiety and PTSD?

The second common effect of CBD is that of providing relief from anxiety, which is also very common for people who suffer from this disorder. Research conducted by Dr. Bruce Rieder at the University of Missouri-Columbia has shown some promising results in this area. His studies have shown that repeated administration of a small amount of CBD is effective in treating various forms of anxiety and depression. It is not clear yet how the administration of CBD works or why it is so effective in fighting anxiety. There is some speculation that CBD acts on certain types of brain receptors and increases the rate of neurotransmitter release in the brain. Other researchers are also looking into CBD effects on anxiety, but they have not found conclusive proof that it works.

Alleviating Cancer-Related Symptoms

The last effect and evidence for cannabidiol health benefits that we're going to look at today is CBD's possible effects on bladder cancer cells. This was a study done by the National Institute of Health in Europe. In this study, mice were injected with a chemical known as pipestrol, which has been shown to prevent bladder tumor growth. After three months, 95% of the treated mice showed no sign of tumor growth. It is not clear yet what the relationship between CBD and pipestrol is, but this is a promising result for anyone who is suffering from bladder cancer. The next step will be for more studies to be conducted, and hopefully once these studies have been conducted, CBD will be available as an official treatment for bladder cancer.
